  • Human Trafficking is estimated to be a $150 billion industry with $99 billion being spent on sex trafficking (International Labour Organization)
  • U.S. is #1 in Sex Trafficking (Trafficking in Persons report, US State Department)
  • 60% American Child Sex Trafficking Victims Come Out of Foster Care (Trafficking in Persons report, US State Department)
  • Human Trafficking is the fastest growing crime in the world. (Polaris Project)
  • Every second there is $3,075.64 spent on pornography and 28,258 viewers. (http://internet-filter-review.toptenreviews.com/)
  • Every 39 minutes a pornographic movie is made in the U.S. (http://internet-filter-review.toptenreviews.com/)
  • 1 out of 3 runaway youth are solicited by a trafficker within 48 hours. (Shared Hope International)
  • The common age a child enters sex trafficking is 14 – 16 year old. (Shared Hope International)In a study made in 9 countries (Canada, USA, Colombia, Germany, Mexico, South Africa, Thailand, turkey, and Zambia), more than 800 prostituted women and children were interviewed. (Farley, 2003)89% directly reported that most of all, they wanted to leave the industry, but couldn’t.
  • 84% had been exposed to aggravated assault, on average 103 times per year
  • 53% were sexually tortured on average more than once a week
  • 49% said that pornography was made of them while in the life
  • 94% of those in street prostitution experienced sexual assault and 75% were raped by one or more johns
  • 90% interviewed reported childhood sexual abuse history and over 70% said their abuse had an influence on their entry into prostitution.
